Our Poker god in gambling heaven, hallowed be your chips,
your betting come,
your deal be done,
on rounds as it is in hold’em.
Give us today our daily aces.
And forgive us our bluffs
as we forgive those who bluff against us.
Do not bring our cards to fold
and deliver us from no pair.
Amen.

I’ve been fixated to poker for a few months now, having to stare, curse, and bet on batty digital chips online thousands of people are demented about. Psychologically dependent? Yes, always to my detriment as it brings time suckage into a whole new level.
Although I must admit, it puts your incredible ego in check, as you tend to undermine every hand that contests yours. Your best chance to get a Royal Flush in playing the game is in the bathroom. Just when you think the monumental pot is yours, you go on an epic spiral towards failure and irritability. In a few minutes you’ll know how to play the game but it does take a lifetime to learn and be good at it. Cards are like war, disguised in digital sport.
It’s riveting to win and even more fascinating to lose on the high seas of emotion and human nature quietly tucked between these cards. It teaches you to be patient, and most often than not, teaches you how like, love and life, is a bittersweet potion of losing to tremendous odds.
A few times we rise above, and that is when we feel vital… perhaps beyond any reason of understanding how elaborate the game is designed, just for the purpose of human intelligence. Fantastic!
Take chances… shuffle up and deal.
